Great Yarmouth and Gorleston are now encroaching on each other along Southtown road and South Denes industrial area widens, engulfing Nelson's monument. The race course in the north of the town is now open on Caister Road on part of the old golf links and the old Royal Aquarium is visible on North Beach. Bradwell however is still a separate community.

The stations at Gorleston-on-Sea and Gorleston North are also visible and the full extent of the railway links to the town can be seen.
